Launch of lending under the “Value Chain Agro Finance” project in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic held a meeting with commercial banks on August 12, 2026, as part of the Value Chain Agro Finance Project, co-financed by the European Union, the European Investment Bank, and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany, which channels the funding through the German Development Bank (KfW).
This meeting marked the start of the project’s financial component, which consisting of a €9 million grant provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany through the German Development Bank (KfW).
The Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic is responsible for disbursing these funds through selected commercial banks: Demir Kyrgyz International Bank CJSC, ABank OJSC, MBank OJSC and O!Bank OJSC.
Financial resources provided grant funds will be used to issue loans in the national currency to eligible micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) participating in agricultural value chains. These loans will have a maturity of up to seven years and an annual interest rate of 10%, and will be used for investment purposes such as purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment and to replenish working capital.The goal of the Project is to finance and support producers and processors of agricultural products operating in value chains across the Kyrgyz Republic.
