Field Day Held in Nookat District: Farmers Demonstrated the Benefits of No-Till Technology on Rainfed Lands
On June 24, 2026, a Field Day dedicated to the benefits of direct seeding technology (No-Till) for cereal crops on rainfed lands was successfully held in the Uluu-Too massif of the Nookat district. The event brought together more than 50 participants, including local farmers, agricultural specialists, and representatives of government agencies. The Field Day served as an important practical platform for a visual demonstration of modern agrotechnology, allowing participants to directly assess the difference between traditional soil tillage and the zero-tillage method right in the field.
The participation of official regional figures added particular significance to the event. The Field Day was visited by the Akim of the Nookat district, Kerymkulov Nurlan Beyshenbekovich, who personally reviewed the implementation of the project, highly praised the achieved results, and confirmed the readiness of the district administration to actively cooperate in promoting No-Till technology among local farmers. Batyrbek Kaarov, the Head of the Agricultural Development Department (RUAR) of the Nookat district, also took part in the event. In recognition of the contribution to the development of the district’s agricultural sector, RUAR presented a Certificate of Honor to the organization implementing the No-Till technology project.
The program of the Field Day was organized around three thematic demonstration stations. At the first station, participants received a visual explanation of the value chain (VC) scheme and the roles of each participant—from producer to consumer—learning how efficient VC organization increases agricultural profitability and sustainability. The second station focused directly on No-Till agrotechnology: responsible experts Alinur Niyazov and Sharapov Edil detailed the principles of zero tillage, such as soil structure preservation, moisture retention, and cost reduction. Farmers were able to visually compare the fields and wheat growth under traditional and zero-tillage methods using live crops. At the third station, a comparative economic analysis of costs and revenues was presented, providing participants with calculations of savings on fuel, seeds, and labor, alongside yield and profitability data.
Furthermore, on the demonstration plot, farmers had the opportunity to observe the growth and development of three cereal crop varieties planted using the direct seeding method in the autumn of 2025. The “Steklovidnaya 24” variety demonstrated excellent adaptation to rainfed lands under No-Till conditions. The high-yielding “Intensivnyi” variety showed great results under zero tillage. Meanwhile, the specialized “Bogarnyi dvuruchka” variety, planted by a demo-farmer, confirmed its key value—exceptional resilience to drought and unstable moisture conditions.
The Field Day was highly successful and fully achieved all its goals. Farmers saw firsthand the benefits of the direct seeding technology on live crops in field conditions, received all necessary agrotechnical information, and strengthened their interaction with government structures. The live field demonstration proved to be the most convincing argument in favor of modern agricultural technologies, and the support from the Akim and RUAR creates favorable conditions for scaling up the No-Till project and developing sustainable farming across the region.
